At Laugharne V.C.P. School, we believe that every day in school matters. Regular attendance is essential for children to make the most of their learning, build strong friendships, and feel fully part of our school community.
We work in close partnership with parents, carers, and the Local Authority to promote excellent attendance and punctuality. Together, we aim to ensure that every child has the best possible opportunity to succeed.

As outlined in our Attendance Policy , we are committed to:
- Promoting a positive culture of attendance
- Monitoring attendance carefully and responding early to concerns
- Supporting families where attendance may be affected
- Celebrating and recognising good and improving attendance
We understand that there are times when absence is unavoidable, and we always take a supportive and understanding approach, particularly where wellbeing or family circumstances are a factor.
However, regular absence and lateness can have a significant impact on a child’s learning and wellbeing, and we will always work proactively with families to address this.

- 90% attendance means missing around 2 weeks of learning
