Summary 2025–2026
Priority 1: Raising Standards in Literacy
We will improve pupils’ reading and writing by strengthening comprehension, spelling, and extended writing through consistent and progressive teaching approaches across the curriculum.
Priority 2: Strengthening Welsh Language Development
We will develop pupils’ confidence and independence in Welsh by improving oracy and reading and ensuring consistent use of Welsh across the school day.
Priority 3: Improving Mathematical Reasoning
We will raise standards in mathematics by embedding problem-solving and reasoning strategies, enabling pupils to explain, apply, and justify their thinking independently.
Priority 4: Embedding Assessment for Progression
We will strengthen assessment systems to ensure consistent tracking, evaluation, and responsive teaching that supports all pupils to make progress.
Priority 5: Securing Curriculum Coherence and Enrichment
We will refine our curriculum to ensure it is broad, balanced, and progressive, with clear development of skills across all Areas of Learning and Experience.
Priority 6: Improving Attendance and Equity
We will improve attendance and reduce absence, particularly for vulnerable learners, through targeted support, effective tracking, and strong partnerships with families.
